A steel frame that does not bridge the wall.

Three things make the system what it is: the frame, the cavity filled in graded layers, and the external skin that breaks the thermal bridge.

The frame

Cold-formed galvanised C-studs — C90 for partitions, C140 for load-bearing walls and façades. Cold-formed steel joists from 250 to 400 mm for floors and roofs. The frame is manufactured, not assembled on site.

The cavity, filled in graded layers

INSULTERM 600 sits on the warm side, where mass and fire protection matter and where the structure sits. Mineral wool sits on the cold side, where the temperature gradient is steepest.

INSULTERM 600 and mineral wool sit inside the stud cavity, not in addition to it. Read sequentially the layer labels over-total the wall by 60–140 mm; the dimension line is correct.

The external skin that breaks the bridge

Ribbed Placner sheet, then 50 mm of sprayed INSULTERM 600, then monocapa render. The INSULTERM layer is continuous across the whole façade, so the studs never reach the outside face.

Any discontinuity at a floor or roof junction forfeits most of the advantage the detail is built to deliver.
